When nothing flows, start with your breath

Reconnecting women with their truth and inner power through breath and sound

There comes a time when you know something needs to shift. When you decide to stop abandoning yourself and start reconnecting with who you really are.

I work with women who feel called to explore what’s been buried beneath the surface. Women who feel disconnected and want to reclaim their bodies, their truth, and their power.

Sessions are centred around The One Breath Method™: a trauma-informed, client-led approach that weaves together Introspective Breathwork® Therapy, somatic practices, and immersive sound journeys to help you connect more deeply with your body and emotions. Rather than focusing on retelling your story, we begin with the breath: the bridge between the mind and the body.

This method supports nervous system healing, self-regulation, emotional processing, and reconnection with yourself in a way that is anchored in intention, safety, and connection.

Does this sound familiar?

You feel stuck in your head and disconnected from your body.

Stress, anxiety, or overwhelm make it hard to feel grounded.

You’re carrying past experiences that feel stuck in your body.

Your inner critic is loud, and self-doubt keeps getting in the way.

You crave space to process without judgement or expectation.

You struggle to prioritise your needs without guilt.

Caring for others has left little room to care for yourself.

You’re exhausted by your nervous system being constantly activated.

If this resonates, you're not alone. I work with women who feel caught in cycles of disconnection, self-doubt, and overwhelm.

Often, what you feel in your body, such as tension in your jaw and shoulders, a constant sense of bracing, or that wired-but-exhausted state, isn’t just stress. It’s what hasn’t yet had space to be fully felt and processed.

These aren’t random symptoms. They are signals from a nervous system stuck in survival mode.

Roots of disconnection

Handwritten text on white paper that reads, 'The price of living someone else's story' in red ink.

We live in a world that teaches women to hold it all together. To stay composed. To push through and keep going no matter what it costs. Somewhere along the way, we learned that expressing emotion was weakness, and that strength meant silence.

Suppressing what we feel doesn’t protect us. It builds in the body, often showing up as tension, dysregulation or ongoing symptoms that don’t always have clear answers.

Many women are living with nervous systems stuck in survival mode. Research shows that women experience significantly higher rates of certain chronic pain conditions, including fibromyalgia, migraines, irritable bowel syndrome, and jaw-related conditions like TMJ pain. These conditions often appear at 2 to 7 times the rate seen in men and are frequently linked to prolonged stress and trauma responses in the body.

When we're constantly bracing, second-guessing ourselves, and holding back what we feel, our body carries that weight.

When we bury our anger, sadness, or pain, they don't just disappear; they linger in the body. We're wired to process emotion, but many of us grew up in environments where there simply wasn’t room for our feelings. When your needs were unmet, when your emotions weren’t welcomed, met with blame or silence, your system adapted by pushing them down.

Over time, these buried emotions shape your inner world and affect your nervous system and overall wellbeing. Unprocessed experiences can keep the body stuck in incomplete survival responses, holding on long after the threat has passed.

Somatic healing practices like breathwork offer space to reconnect with what has been buried, not through force, but through presence.

These practices support nervous system regulation and emotional integration, helping us return to the root rather than only addressing surface symptoms.

Your nervous system has evolved to protect you. When it perceives threat, it activates survival states like fight, flight, freeze, or fawn. This work supports your system to recognise safety and shift out of defence, gently expanding your window of tolerance, so that experiences can be felt and processed without becoming overwhelming.

When we begin to listen to our body’s cues and honour our emotional experiences, reconnection becomes possible. From that place, a deeper sense of ease, trust, and authenticity can grow.

How this works

This approach isn't about forcing techniques or trying to 'fix' anything. It meets you exactly where you are, creating safety for your nervous system to shift from survival mode into rest and restoration. This work prioritises nervous system regulation before emotional processing, ensuring you're always working within a zone that feels manageable and safe.

Breathwork: active exploration

Breathwork invites active exploration through intentional breath, supporting self-regulation while allowing you to shift stored energy and deepen self-awareness. Many women experience a profound sense of relief as emotions find their natural expression in a contained, supported way.

Music: emotional resonance

Music creates a powerful container for the breathwork journey, often reaching places that words alone cannot. Each session includes carefully curated soundscapes designed to guide emotional expression, soothe the nervous system, and support access to deeper layers of felt experience. Rhythm and melody act as bridges between conscious awareness and the body’s emotional landscape, expanding your capacity to be present with what’s been held, and, when it feels safe, to let it move.

What to expect in a session

Each session is a space for reconnection, grounded in presence, guided by your body, and shaped by your needs on the day.

You’ll be supported to stay with your own experience, making adjustments when needed, whether that means shifting position, pausing, or softening your breath. Your agency is central throughout.

With time, you may begin to develop your own internal rhythm for regulation, learning to return to yourself again and again, both in and beyond sessions.

While each journey is unique, here's the general flow:

  • We begin by settling into the space and connecting with what’s present. This might include a brief check-in or grounding practice to support your nervous system before we move into the breath.

  • This is the core of the session. Introspective Breathwork® Therapy uses conscious breathing to bring awareness to what your body is holding.

This phase invites emotional processing, release, and self-connection guided by the breath, supported by music, and held in a safe, attuned container.

Music is used intentionally to deepen your experience and support somatic and emotional movement.

  • After breathwork, we create space to rest, integrate, and gently return. This may include quiet reflection, grounding, or conversation whatever feels most supportive in the moment. You’ll never be rushed.

Hi, I’m Liv

Black and white photograph of a smiling woman with short hair wearing a beanie and a dark turtleneck, standing in a field with trees and a cloudy sky in the background.

I know what it’s like to feel stuck in your head, overwhelmed by emotion, and disconnected from your body. For a long time, I searched outside myself for answers. Then I found breathwork, and everything began to shift.

Healing, I’ve learned, doesn’t come from trying to think our way through. It begins with learning to listen to the body, to emotion, and to the quieter parts of ourselves we were once taught to ignore.

My own journey brought me back to myself. It’s why I now work with women seeking reconnection. I’m a certified trauma-informed breathwork facilitator, and I work specifically with women who are willing to break old cycles, reclaim their bodies, and reconnect with their truth. Many of the women I support are healing from difficult early experiences, learning to trust themselves again, and choosing a new path for their lives.

My approach is gentle and intuitive. I work with the nervous system to support safety, presence, and self-trust, always respecting your pace and what feels right for you.

Music plays a central role in this work. It often reaches places that words cannot. In each session, I use carefully curated playlists to accompany your breathwork journey. Music helps unlock emotion, stir memory, and deepen somatic awareness. Like the breath, it works with the limbic system to support emotional release and integration.

This is a trauma-sensitive practice that recognises how the body stores unprocessed experience. Through Introspective Breathwork® Therapy, you’re invited to reconnect with your body at your own pace. The aim is to move from survival into presence, from disconnection into embodied truth.

I hold certifications in Introspective Breathwork® Therapy and Usui Reiki, with specialist training in somatic and trauma-informed care. My work continues to evolve as I deepen my learning in nervous system regulation and body-based healing. I primarily work with women online, with limited in-person sessions available in Brighton and Hove.
